At what extent of damage should a bumper be replaced?

A bumper should be replaced when it is severely damaged. Functions of a bumper: During low-speed collisions, the bumper serves as a buffer to protect the front and rear body of the vehicle. It also provides some protection for pedestrians in case of an accident. To reduce passenger injuries during side collisions, door bumpers are often installed in cars to enhance the door's impact resistance. Repair methods: For crack repair, first remove the bumper and identify the damaged area. Use a plastic welding gun to heat and weld the backside of the crack; move along the crack while heating the plastic welding rod. Once welded, allow it to cool to complete the repair. For dent repair, remove the bumper and identify the deformed area; use a heat gun to warm the damaged section for reshaping.
