Are small cars exempt from inspection within ten years?

Small cars are not exempt from inspection within ten years. Currently, the exemption period remains six years. The six-year exemption applies to standard-compliant vehicles registered within six years, which do not require safety technical inspections at inspection agencies when undergoing biennial periodic inspections. Instead, owners can directly apply for inspection labels from the traffic management department of the public security authority. Vehicle owners only need to bring their driver's license, ID card, and other relevant documents. If a car is driven on the road without the new inspection label, the owner may face penalties from traffic authorities for failing the annual inspection. The six-year exemption rule for new cars is limited to 5-seater and 6-seater vehicles.
