Private cars under 10 years old are inspected every two years. According to the new vehicle inspection regulations implemented from November 20, 2020, new vehicles within 6 years can be exempted from inspection twice (inspection labels need to be applied for every two years, but no on-site inspection is required). At the 6th and 8th years, vehicles must undergo on-site inspection. For private cars over 10 years old, the original inspection cycle still applies, i.e., annual inspection for vehicles aged 10 to 15 years, and semi-annual inspection for vehicles over 15 years old. Below is additional information: 1. Relevant regulations: Article 13 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that motor vehicles registered for road use shall undergo regular safety technical inspections according to laws, administrative regulations, and based on factors such as vehicle purpose, passenger and cargo capacity, and service life. Upon submission of the vehicle's driving license and compulsory third-party liability insurance policy, the motor vehicle safety technical inspection institution shall conduct the inspection, and no additional conditions may be imposed by any unit. 2. Conditions for the six-year exemption from inspection: (1) The vehicle has been involved in a traffic accident causing casualties; (2) The vehicle has been legally penalized for illegal modifications; (3) The vehicle has not been registered within 4 years from the date of manufacture.
