Are Motorcycles Exempt from Inspection for Six Years?

Motorcycles are eligible for a six-year inspection exemption. The new vehicle inspection regulations for 2021 include the following updates: Expanded scope of motor vehicle inspection exemptions: Building on the existing exemption for non-commercial mini and micro passenger vehicles with six or fewer seats within six years, the exemption now includes non-commercial mini and micro passenger vehicles with seven to nine seats (excluding minivans). For non-commercial mini and micro passenger vehicles (excluding minivans) older than six years but less than ten years, the inspection frequency has been adjusted from annually to once every two years. Nationwide, over 170 million private vehicle owners will benefit from these reforms. Vehicles involved in fatal or injury-causing accidents or those illegally modified and penalized by law will still undergo inspections according to the original cycle to ensure vehicle safety performance. Relaxation of age restrictions for small vehicle driver's license applications: To better meet the needs of an aging society, the upper age limit of 70 for applying for a driver's license for small cars, small automatic transmission vehicles, and light motorcycles has been removed. For individuals over 70 years old applying for a driver's license, additional tests for memory, judgment, and reaction abilities will be conducted to ensure their physical condition meets safe driving requirements.
