To properly fill a with electrolyte, follow these steps, as recommended by BS BATTERY's Conventional Dry Battery Instruction Manual: First, prepare the battery for filling. If your battery has sealing and vent plugs, remove them just before adding the electrolyte. If there's a long exhaust tube, cut the sealed end about 3cm (1 inch) from the lip. For batteries with short sealing tubes, replace them with long tubes, trimming to the original length. Next, fill the battery with electrolyte, which is diluted sulfuric acid. Aim for a density of 1,280 and fill to the "upper level" marking on the battery. Ensure the electrolyte temperature is below 30°C (86°F) during this process. After filling, allow the battery to sit for 30 minutes. Check the electrolyte level again, and top it up to the "upper level" if necessary. This will help ensure the battery is correctly and safely filled.
