To keep your Carli Ball Joints performing at their best and extend their lifespan, follow this plan. Service your Carli Ball Joints every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. The greasing procedure is as follows: First, place the front axle on jack stands to remove the load from the ball joints. Clean the zerk fittings on the lower ball joints and attach a manual grease gun. Pump grease into the lower ball joints until you see clean grease exiting the grease port. Next, pump grease into the upper ball joints until the grease gun becomes firm, typically after 1-2 pumps. With all four ball joints greased, start your truck and cycle the steering wheel fully from lock to lock five times while the vehicle is still on jack stands. Finally, turn off the truck and remove the jack stands. For optimal performance, every 3-4 maintenance cycles, recheck the torque on the ball joint nuts. Torque the lower ball joint nut to 160 lb.ft using a 1-5/16” socket. Torque the upper ball joint nut to 70 lb.ft using a 15/16” Crow’s Foot. Using Redline CV2 Grease or any quality synthetic ball joint grease is highly recommended for optimal results. Regular maintenance ensures your Carli Ball Joints provide a smooth, safe, and reliable driving experience.
