The Extreme Networks AP510e access point offers flexible power options to suit different network setups. You can power it using either Power over Ethernet () or an external 12V DC power supply.
Power over Ethernet (PoE): This method utilizes the RJ45 Ethernet ports (LAN ports) of the AP510e for power delivery. The AP510e supports both 802.3af and 802.3at PoE standards, offering flexibility in your network infrastructure. To use PoE, you'll need a PoE-enabled switch or a PoE injector that complies with either 802.3af or 802.3at.
External 12V DC Power Supply: Alternatively, you can power the AP510e using an external 12V DC power supply. When using this method, PoE is disabled. You'll need to purchase the optional 12V DC power supply, which is available with ordering part #37219 - PWR 12VDC, 3A, and features a 2.5mm x 5.5mm connector. This method provides an alternative if PoE isn't available in your network environment. Choosing the right power method depends on your existing infrastructure and power requirements.
