Descaling your Keurig Duo is essential for optimal performance. Here’s how to do it: First, empty the water reservoir and run two brew cycles with no K-Cup pod inserted to clear any loose grounds. Next, mix a descaling solution; you can use equal parts white vinegar and water, or opt for a Keurig Descaling Solution. Pour the solution into the water reservoir up to the MAX fill line, place a large mug or carafe on the drip tray, and power on the brewer. Select the appropriate brew size for descaling (like 8 oz for a single cup or 12 oz for a carafe), then press the BREW button. Allow the brewer to dispense the solution into the mug or carafe, discarding the liquid after each cycle. Repeat this process until the reservoir is empty. Let the brewer sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the descaling solution to work its magic. Rinse the reservoir thoroughly, fill it with fresh water, and repeat the brewing process with plain water at least three more times to remove all traces of the solution. Your Keurig Duo is now descaled and ready to brew delicious coffee again. It's recommended to descale your Keurig Duo every three months or when you notice slower brewing or reduced coffee volume. Always consult your user guide for detailed instructions.
