
Setting up and operating your SWAN-MATIC C400 Air Operated Capping Machine is straightforward with these steps: First, carefully unpack the capper and inspect for any damage. Place the machine on a level surface. Remove the red fill plug and add two quarts of Gear Oil (P/N C095) into the housing. Attach the appropriate-sized driver shell with a rubber insert and secure it. Connect the capper to a ½ inch airline and open the main air valve. Run the capper for several minutes to lubricate the mechanism. Check the alignment of the container cap and adjust the capper height so the cap just contacts the insert. Slide the backstop assembly against the container and tighten it. Rotate the spindle to remove the container and readjust the capper height. Adjust the clutch to set the desired torque. Periodically check the oil level. Replace the spindle oil seal if needed. Adjust the clutch to reduce driver insert wear.
