To replace the batteries in your VTech 80-158089 Touch & Teach Elephant, follow these simple steps: First, ensure the unit is switched OFF. Then, locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the elephant. Use a coin or a screwdriver to loosen the screw on the battery cover. Remove the cover to access the battery compartment. Inside, you'll see a diagram indicating the correct placement for 2 new AA (AM-3/LR6) batteries. Always insert the batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -) as shown in the diagram. It's recommended to use new alkaline batteries for the best performance. After inserting the new batteries, replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure it. For optimal performance and to prevent battery leakage, we advise using new alkaline batteries and removing the batteries if the toy will not be used for an extended period. For more detailed instructions or if you encounter any issues, please refer to the VTech 80-158089 Touch & Teach Elephant User Manual or contact VTech's Consumer Services.
