Proper belt tension is essential for the FreeSpirits 307585-87 Triumph Classic Belt Conversion Kit's performance and longevity. Here's how to tension the belt correctly: First, install the belt on the swingarm and reinstall the swingarm securely. Next, reinstall the footrests. Remove the OEM rear sprocket, and then install the pulley kit using the original nuts, applying medium-strength Loctite. Mount the rear wheel but don't fully tighten the nut yet. Reinstall the brake caliper. Install the pinion kit, ensuring the nut stop flange is inserted and the holes are centered as shown in the provided photo, then secure it with the provided screws. Use a rear stand to lower the bike and properly align the axes. Refer to the provided drawing to ensure the pinion, pulley, pin swingarm, and bending are aligned, with a 10mm deflection and 4.5 kg of force applied. Finally, replace the shocks and securely fix the rear wheel axle. Following these steps carefully guarantees correct belt tension.
