Optimizing your Ducati Monster's handling and comfort starts with adjusting the Öhlins DU 125 Shock Absorber. Here's a guide to fine-tuning its settings.
Rebound Adjustment: This controls how quickly the shock returns after compression. Locate the rebound adjuster and turn it clockwise to increase damping (slower return) or counterclockwise to decrease damping (faster return). A recommended starting point is 14 clicks from fully closed (clockwise).
Compression Adjustment: This regulates the shock's resistance to compression. Find the compression adjuster and turn it clockwise for firmer compression or counterclockwise for softer compression. The recommended setting is 8 clicks from fully closed.
Spring Preload Adjustment: This sets the initial spring compression. Use the preload adjuster to increase or decrease preload. A suggested starting preload is 7 mm.
Always consult the Öhlins Owner’s Manual for specific instructions and setup data tailored to your Ducati Monster. For expert advice and support, reach out to an authorized Öhlins dealer.
