Experiencing issues with your Scheppach DP16SL drill press spindle return speed? Here's how to adjust the spindle retaining spring. First, increase workspace by lowering the drill press table. Then, focus on the left side of the drill. Place a screwdriver in the front lower notch, keeping it secure. Next, use a flat spanner to remove the outer locknut. Carefully loosen the inner locknut until it disengages from the boss, remembering the spring is under tension. Now, use a screwdriver to turn the spring cap anti-clockwise until you can press the notch into the boss. Lower the spindle to its lowest point, holding the spring cap in place. Adjust the cap until the spindle moves smoothly. Retighten the inner locknut. If the spindle return is still not ideal, repeat the process; reverse the steps if it's too tight. Finally, tighten the outer locknut against the inner locknut, but avoid over-tightening to maintain proper spindle movement. By following these steps, you can optimize the spindle return on your Scheppach DP16SL drill press.
