Keeping your pool water crystal clear with a ClearWater II Cartridge Filter System involves regular filter . You should clean your filter when the pressure gauge on the filter reads 5 PSI or more above your initial starting pressure. Always consult the ClearWater II Cartridge Filter System owner's manual for specific instructions. To clean the filter safely, follow these steps: First, turn off the pump. Never clean the filter while the pump is running. Next, plug the skimmer and pool return lines or lower the pool water level below the pool return line. Then, slowly open the air release valve on top of the filter until the pressure gauge reads 0. After that, open the drain cap at the bottom of the filter to release the water. Now, press the yellow safety latch on the underside of the locking nut and turn the nut counterclockwise to remove the lid. Rinse the cartridge element thoroughly with a garden hose; there's no need to remove it from the filter housing. Finally, reassemble the lid and follow the startup procedures described in your original instructions. Remember to clean the filter when the pressure gauge indicates a reading of your original starting pressure plus 5 PSI to ensure optimal performance and maintain clean pool water.
