Always consult your original manual for your specific starting pressure reading. To clean the filter, follow these steps: First, turn off the pump. Never clean the filter while the pump is running. Next, plug the skimmer and pool return lines or lower the pool water level below the pool return line. Then, slowly open the air release valve on top of the filter until the pressure gauge reads "0." After that, open the drain cap at the bottom of the filter and let the water flow out. Release the lid by pressing the yellow safety latch on the underside of the locking nut and turning the nut counterclockwise.
