To properly set up and test the LTM8080EY Dual 500mA or Single 1A Ultralow Noise Ultrahigh PSRR Module Regulator using the Demonstration Circuit 3071A, follow these steps. First, configure the jumpers JP1 and JP2 according to the manual's specifications. Next, prepare your input voltage supply (between 4V and 40V) and ensure the load currents are set to 0A before connecting. Connect the output loads between VOUT1 and GND, VOUT2 and GND, and connect the input voltage supply as illustrated in the provided diagram. Then, connect Digital Volt Meters (DVMs) to both the input and output terminals. Power on the input supply, setting the voltage to 12V initially, and confirm that it does not exceed 40V. Verify the output voltages from VOUT1 to GND and VOUT2 to GND; the readings should be within ±2% of the programmed output voltage. Adjust the load current gradually from 0A up to 500mA, monitoring VOUT to ensure it remains within the specified voltage range. Vary the input voltage between 4V and 40V, and again, monitor VOUT to ensure the output remains stable. Finally, after completing your tests, set the load back to 0A and then power off the input supply. Following these steps and monitoring the output voltages will allow you to effectively evaluate the performance of your LTM8080EY module regulator using the Demonstration Circuit 3071A.
