Setting the cooking time and temperature on your Hamilton 33480 8-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker is simple. First, plug the slow cooker into a power outlet and press the ON/OFF button to turn it on. The unit defaults to a 4-hour cooking time on HIGH. To adjust the temperature, use the TEMP button to select your desired setting. You have three options: LOW, HIGH, and WARM (note that WARM is for keeping food at temperature, not for cooking or reheating). To set the cooking time, use the buttons to adjust the timer. You can set the timer in 30-minute increments, up to a maximum of 18 hours. The timer will then count down in 1-minute increments. Keep in mind that the total cook time plus the warm time cannot exceed 20 hours. After the set cooking time is complete, the slow cooker will automatically switch to the WARM setting. You can change either the temperature or the cooking time at any point during the cooking process. When you select a new cooking time, the timer will reset to count down from the new time selected. For comprehensive instructions and safety guidelines, consult the Hamilton Beach 33480 8-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker User Manual.
