Replacing the batteries in your LeapFrog Touch & Learn World Map is a straightforward process. Here's how to do it: First, ensure the unit is switched off. Locate the compartment on the back of the LeapFrog Touch & Learn World Map. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and open the battery cover. Carefully remove the old batteries by gently lifting one end of each battery. Insert two new AA (AM-3/LR6) batteries, paying close attention to the polarity diagram inside the battery compartment to ensure correct placement. For optimal performance, LeapFrog recommends using alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. Once the new batteries are in place, replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure it. Important battery safety information: Battery installation should be performed by an adult. Always insert batteries with the correct positive (+) and negative (-) terminals aligned as indicated. Do not mix old and new batteries, different battery types, or rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries. If you plan to store the LeapFrog Touch & Learn World Map for an extended period, remove the batteries. Dispose of used batteries responsibly and never dispose of them in a fire.
