
Seasoning your PATRIOT PT-G12-E Countertop Electric Griddle is crucial for optimal performance and longevity. Here's how to do it correctly: First, thoroughly clean the griddle surface. Then, set the temperature control dials to 350°F (177°C). Using a clean cloth, apply a thin, even layer of cooking oil across the entire cooking surface. Allow the oil to remain on the hot griddle for 30 minutes. After this, remove any excess oil and wipe the surface clean. Repeat the oil application and heating process for another 30 minutes, and then wipe the surface clean again. Your griddle is now seasoned and ready for use. Remember, the manual advises against using abrasive or flammable cleaners, hosing down or immersing any part of the griddle (except the catch tray), and using scrubber pads or cleaners with chlorine, iodine, ammonia, or bromine on the griddle surface.
