Connecting your NCB router to your local Echelon network involves a few careful steps. Here's how to do it using the SMX network transceiver, referencing the product manual's guidance: First, remove the back plate of the NCB router. Next, gently remove the router motherboard from its enclosure. Then, attach the stand-offs (usually provided with the transceiver) to the motherboard. After that, carefully mount the network transceiver by aligning and seating its header socket onto the NCB SMX header. Now, put the motherboard back into the NCB enclosure. Before replacing the back cover, connect your network media to the network connector on the transceiver. Always remember to access the motherboard from the rear of the enclosure, as removing or replacing it from the front panel can potentially damage the unit and may void the warranty. Important safety note: Always disconnect the power supply before making any changes to switch settings or when removing or installing the SMX network transceiver. This precaution helps prevent potential damage to the equipment.
