Manually configuring a Grandstream GRP260X IP to work with RingCentral MVP requires careful attention to detail. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you through the process:
Prepare Your Phone: If the Grandstream GRP260X was previously used, you might need to contact the prior service provider to unlock it. Then, perform a factory reset to clear any existing configurations.
Add Your Phone in RingCentral MVP: Log into your RingCentral MVP account and go to the 'Phones & Devices' section. Click 'Add Device' and choose 'Other Phone (BYOD)'. You'll need to enter the MAC address of your GRP260X and assign it to a user. Review the settings before adding the device.
Gather SIP Settings from RingCentral MVP: Within RingCentral MVP, locate your added device and select 'Edit'. Choose the 'Set Up manually using SIP' option. This will provide you with the necessary SIP settings, which you'll need for manual configuration. Make sure to note these down, as you'll input them into your phone.
Access the Phone's Web Interface: Power on your Grandstream GRP260X phone and find its IP address, usually displayed on the phone's screen. Enter this IP address into a web browser on your computer. Log in to the phone's web interface using the credentials displayed on your phone's LCD screen.
Configure Account Settings: Inside the phone's web interface, navigate to 'Accounts' and then 'Account 1'. Here, you'll enter the SIP settings you obtained from RingCentral MVP. This typically includes the SIP server address, SIP User ID, and other related details. Also, configure other necessary settings such as Codec Settings and Feature Codes.
Save and Apply Settings: After entering all the SIP settings, save the configuration within the phone's web interface. The phone should then attempt to register with RingCentral MVP.
Verify Registration Status: Check the account registration status, typically found under the 'Status' or 'Account Status' section of the phone's interface. It should indicate whether the phone has successfully registered with RingCentral MVP.
Consider a Firmware Update: To ensure optimal performance, check for any available firmware upgrades. You can usually find the available firmware file on the RingCentral MVP portal, under the device information. Upload the file and reboot the device when prompted.
