Installing the AcuRite 06051M Solar Power Pack involves a few simple steps, whether you're mounting it on a pole or a surface. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Before You Begin:
Mounting on a 3/4" Pole: 4. Unscrew the standard screws to separate the pole clamp halves. 5. Position the solar power pack at a reachable height for easy solar panel cleaning. 6. Re-insert and tighten the screws to secure the clamp around the pole. 7. Create a drip loop with the wire to prevent water damage. 8. When routing the wire to your AcuRite IRIS or AcuRite ATLAS weather sensor, avoid wrapping it around the pole to prevent signal interference. Secure any excess wire in a loop. 9. Adjust the solar panel angle by loosening and re-tightening the screw on the Solar Angle Adjustment.
Surface Mounting (Fence Post, Deck Post, Wall, etc.): 10. Unscrew the standard screws to separate the pole clamp halves. 11. Position the solar power pack and secure CLAMP PART A to the wood or similar surface using the WOOD SCREWS. Discard or keep CLAMP PART B as it is not utilized in this mounting method. 12. Position the wire to form a drip loop. 13. Wrap any excess wire in a loop and secure it. 14. Adjust the solar panel angle using the Solar Angle Adjustment screw.
Connecting to AcuRite IRIS (5-IN-1): 15. Use the included battery compartment adaptor (A) and wire routing clips (B). 16. Remove the original battery compartment cover from the bottom of the AcuRite Iris Sensor (keep or discard) and remove any existing batteries. 17. Install the wired battery compartment adaptor into the AcuRite Iris Sensor. 18. Secure the adaptor by inserting the three (3) in-line clips into the 5-in-1 Sensor as shown. Ensure the cord is taut to avoid wind vane interference.
Connecting to AcuRite ATLAS: 19. Do NOT use the battery compartment adaptor (A) and wire routing clips (B) with the AcuRite Atlas. 20. Remove the battery compartment cover from the bottom of the AcuRite Atlas sensor, removing any installed batteries. 21. Plug the power adapter cord into the sensor's battery compartment. 22. Loop the cord through the slot and replace the battery compartment cover.
