Mounting your Garmin GPSMAP 10x2 Series 10 Inch All-in-One Chartplotter offers two primary options: bail mounting and flush mounting. Here's how to do both. Bail Mounting: 1. Use the bail-mount bracket as a template to mark pilot holes on your chosen mounting surface. 2. Drill these pilot holes. 3. Secure the bail-mount bracket to the surface using appropriate screws. 4. Attach the bail-mount knobs to the sides of your Garmin device. 5. Position the chartplotter within the bail-mount bracket and tighten the knobs. Flush Mounting: 1. Trim the provided template and verify it fits in your desired mounting location. 2. Secure the template to that location. 3. Drill pilot holes inside the corners of the solid line on the template to prep the mounting surface for cutting. 4. Use a jigsaw or rotary tool to cut along the inside line on the template. 5. Test the fit of the device in the cutout. 6. If necessary, use a file and sandpaper to refine the cutout size. 7. Carefully remove the trim caps using a plastic pry tool. 8. If the mounting holes on the device don't align, mark new hole locations. 9. Drill holes of the appropriate sizes, based on whether you're using nut plates. 10. Place the nut plates on the back of the mounting surface, aligning the holes. 11. Secure the nut plates with the included M3 screws. 12. Apply the foam gasket to the back of the device. 13. Connect all necessary cables before placing the device in the cutout if the back won't be accessible after mounting. 14. Apply marine sealant between the mounting surface and the device to seal and prevent leakage. 15. Place the Garmin device into the cutout and secure it with the included M4 screws. 16. Wipe away excess sealant. 17. Snap the trim caps back into place around the device edges. These steps are a summary; always consult your Garmin GPSMAP 10x2 Series 10 Inch All-in-One Chartplotter Instruction Manual for detailed illustrations and complete instructions.
