To adjust the water probe sensitivity on your Carter-Hoffmann HL10-5 Humidified Holding Cabinet and prevent frequent low water alarms, follow these steps: First, power off the unit. Next, fully empty and replace the water pan. Then, press in the humidity adjustment dial. While holding the dial in, switch the power back on. Only the cooling fan within the heater compartment should activate. The temperature display will show three horizontal lines at the bottom, and the humidity display should read "10". Carefully slide out the water pan and add water until it just covers the longest water probe. Rotate the humidity dial clockwise to increase probe sensitivity until the leftmost line on the temperature display moves from the bottom to the top. This indicates the probe is now sensing water. Repeat this process by adding more water to submerge the middle probe, adjusting the dial until the middle line on the temperature display rises to the top. Finally, add more water to submerge the shortest probe, adjusting the dial until the rightmost line on the temperature display moves to the top. When all three lines are at the top of the temperature display, turn off the power. The water probes are now calibrated for your water quality. Turn the unit back on for normal operation. Following these steps will help calibrate your Carter-Hoffmann HL10-5 water probe and reduce unnecessary low water alarm activations.
