Powering your Altronix NetWaySP2P Series switches correctly is crucial for optimal performance. Here's a breakdown for each model:
For NetWaySP2P and NetWaySP2PWPN models: Connect a 48VDC-56VDC power source to the terminals labeled [48-56VDC – Input +]. Ensure proper polarity when making the connection. These terminals accept up to 12 AWG wires.
For NetWaySP2PWP and NetWaySP2PWPX models: Before applying power, verify the input voltage selection switch is set to the correct position. These models typically ship set for 115VAC operation. Connect AC power from an overcurrent protective device circuit breaker (20A at 115VAC, 60Hz or 16A at 230VAC, 50/60Hz) to the terminals marked [L, N] on the power supply board. The ground lug should be connected to earth ground or the green branch wire on the backplane using a 12AWG minimum wire. Always use 14AWG or larger wires for all power connections, including , DC output, and AC input. Keep power-limited wiring separate from non-power-limited wiring, utilizing different knockouts/inlets and maintaining a minimum 0.25” spacing.
Optional Battery Backup: If you desire battery backup, connect four 12VDC batteries in series to the terminals labeled [– BAT +], carefully observing polarity. Use lead-acid or gel-type batteries for this purpose. Note that without batteries, a loss of AC power will result in a loss of output voltage. Always exercise caution when working with electrical components, and double-check all connections. If you're uncertain, consult with qualified service personnel for assistance to ensure a safe and correct installation.
