To copy the EDID from a display using the StarTech VSEDIDDVI DVI DDC EDID Ghosting Emulator, follow these steps: First, set the rotary dial on the emulator to position 1. Next, connect the USB to DC power cable from the emulator to a USB port on either your video source device or display device (you may need to power the device on). The Status LED will illuminate blue. Then, connect your EDID-compliant display device to the Monitor port on the emulator using the appropriate DVI cable (DVI-D, dual or single link), and power on the display. After that, press and hold the EDID PROGRAM button on the emulator until the Status LED begins to flash green. The LED will flash green/red while the EDID is being copied. Finally, once the Status LED returns to solid blue, the EDID copy is complete. These instructions are based on the product's manual for the StarTech VSEDIDDVI DVI DDC EDID Ghosting Emulator.
