Adjusting the resistance on your Concept2 BikeErg 2900 allows you to customize your workout intensity. Here's how:
Damper Setting: The damper, with settings from 1 to 10, significantly impacts resistance. Higher numbers (up to 10) simulate a heavier gear, increasing resistance, while lower numbers (down to 1) feel like a lighter gear, reducing resistance. For general fitness, aim for a damper setting that allows a cadence of 60 to 80 RPM.
Drag Factor: For more precise resistance control, monitor the drag factor, which measures air resistance within the flywheel enclosure. The BikeErg's drag factor ranges from approximately 40 to 210. To view this, go to Main Menu > More Options > Display Drag Factor on the Performance Monitor (PM).
Calibration: Ensure accurate readings by periodically confirming the calibration. The BikeErg will prompt you, but you can also manually calibrate via More Options > Utilities > Calibration Utilities. Recalibrate after moving the BikeErg. By using the damper settings, monitoring the drag factor and keeping your BikeErg calibrated, you can tailor your workout intensity to meet your fitness objectives.
