Connecting your Thrax Audio Teres stereo power amplifier to your audio system is straightforward. Here's how to ensure a proper setup for optimal performance:
Ventilation is Key: Place your Teres amplifier in a well-ventilated area. Avoid placing it on carpet or any surface that could restrict airflow, as this can lead to overheating.
Input Connections: The Teres amplifier offers two input options: unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR. Choose the input that matches your source device and the cables you have available.
Connections: Connect your speaker cables to the speaker connectors on the back panel of the amplifier. Make sure you connect the "Common" or "Ground" lead to the black jack and the "Hot" lead to the red jack for each speaker.
Powering Up: Connect the power cable to the power amplifier, and make sure the voltage selector is correctly set to either 115V or 230V, which can be adjusted via a removable selector card behind the fuse. Turn the amplifier on using the main switch on the back panel. The LED on the front will light red, indicating standby mode. Press the "ON/OFF" button on the front panel to activate the amplifier. The LED will flash green during warm-up and turn solid green when ready.
Trigger In (Optional): If you're using a Thrax Dionysos preamplifier, connect its Trigger Out to the Teres amplifier's Trigger In to enable synchronized power on/off.
Tube Replacement (If Needed): The Teres amplifier uses a 6N6P tube. When replacing the tube, always turn off the power, unplug the power cord, and wait 15 minutes before removing it. Handle the tube with care, and insert the new tube firmly into the socket. Following these steps will help you properly integrate your Thrax Audio Teres stereo power amplifier into your audio system, ensuring you enjoy the best possible sound quality.
