To successfully connect and configure the Solid State Instruments RTR-22+ High-Speed Water and Gas Meter Relay, follow these steps. First, consider the mounting position; the RTR-22+ can be mounted in any orientation. For power input, follow these guidelines: For a 120VAC supply, connect the hot lead to the L1 terminal and the neutral to the NEU terminal. For a 277VAC supply, connect the hot lead to the L2 terminal and the neutral to the NEU terminal. Always connect the GND terminal to Ground. If a neutral connection is unavailable at your metering location, connect BOTH the NEU and GND terminals to Ground. An inline fuse is highly recommended for safety. Next, consider meter connections. The RTR-22+ features two 2-Wire (Form A) inputs. Connect the Kin1 and Yin1 terminals to the first meter's K and Y terminals, respectively. Then, connect the Kin2 and Yin2 terminals to the second meter's K and Y terminals. The Yinx terminals provide a +13VDC wetting voltage to the meter's Y dry contact output. Each input is equipped with a Yellow indicating its status. Regarding relay input and output configuration, the RTR-22+ allows for input and output configuration adjustments. Input debouncing time can be set to 50uS, 0.5mS, 5mS, or 20mS. The outputs are configured as dry-contact outputs, and a Green LED indicates the output status. The RTR-22+ also offers various operating modes. The relay can be configured for either Normal or Fixed pulse output mode. Normal mode mirrors input pulse widths, while Fixed mode utilizes a pre-selected, fixed pulse width. Finally, configure the relay settings. Input filter times are adjustable to 50uS, 0.5mS, 5mS, or 20mS. Output times are individually selectable for each channel, with options of 50mS, 100mS, 200mS, or 500mS. For detailed instructions and specific application needs, always refer to the complete instruction manual provided with your Solid State Instruments RTR-22+.
