After installing your B-ILISC511 Shift Interlock system, verifying its correct operation is key to ensuring the safety and functionality of your wheelchair lift. Here's how to confirm proper function:
-
Key On Check:
- Turn the ignition key to the "Run" position. Confirm all five LEDs on the module illuminate for about two seconds.
- Ensure the "Park," "Park Brake," and "Shift Lock" LEDs stay on.
- Attempt to deploy the lift with the lift door closed. Then, open the lift door and try deploying the lift again.
- With the lift door open, the park brake engaged, and the transmission in Park, confirm all five LEDs are lit and attempt to deploy the lift. Stow the lift.
- Release the park brake with the lift door open and verify that the "Park Brake" and "Vehicle Secure" LEDs turn off. Attempt to deploy the lift again.
- Test shifting out of Park under different combinations of lift door status and park brake setting.
-
Key Off Check:
- Repeat similar steps as the Key On Check, but with the ignition key off. Ensure both a discrete park brake and lift door input are connected for this test.
-
Lift Interlock Diagnostic Mode Testing:
- Enter diagnostic mode by putting the transmission in Park and turning the ignition to the run position. Press the red "Test" button on the module.
- The LED indicators will display the status of Shift Lock, transmission, park brake, lift door, and vehicle secure.
- Exit diagnostic mode by cycling the ignition key.
-
System Operation:
- The B-ILISC511 system controls wheelchair lift operation based on vehicle safety conditions.
- LEDs on the display panel indicate the status of Park, Park Brake, Lift Door, and Shift Lock.
- The system prevents shifting out of Park if safety conditions are not met.
-
Sleep Mode:
- The system enters a low-current "sleep" mode when the lift door is closed and the ignition is off. It can be woken by turning the ignition on or opening the lift door.
By following these checks and tests, you can confirm the correct and safe operation of your B-ILISC511 Shift Interlock system. For any issues or further assistance, consult the system manual or contact the manufacturer.
