To configure the WilTec 61856 360° Metal Sheet Bending Machine for bending round forms, follow these steps:
- Begin by attaching the mounting plate for dies (4) to the mounting plate of the spring-forming die (32) of the device.
- Loosen the stop (2).
- Slide the vice unit (5–9, 15) on the mounting plate holder all the way to its end position.
- Position the mounting shaft of the round-bending die (28) onto the mounting plate.
- Place the round-bending die (29) onto the mounting shaft.
- Move the bending block assembly (16, 17, 22–24) to its end position. You might need to loosen the bending block locking plate (21) by loosening the hexagon screws (20), but do not secure the locking plate yet.
- Position the stop against the round-bending die and use the vice to clamp the workpiece against the die.
- Move the bending block until it touches the workpiece, ensuring its front plate (16) aligns flush with the vice surface (8). Secure the bending block by tightening its two screws.
- Using the handle (27), move the bending block to the left until you achieve the desired bending angle. Keep in mind the "spring-back" effect.
- To repeat bends at the same angle, firmly tighten the stop at the point where you completed the bending operation.
- To form a full 360° ring, clamp the end of your workpiece between the vice and the die. Bend the workpiece around and cut off any excess material.
- For creating springs, loosen the stop (2) and slightly lift the piece while bending it around the die. When beginning and finishing the spring, create a complete 360° ring as described in step 11.
