Setting up multiple monitors with your ACT AC7047 USB-C 4K Multiport Docking Station is straightforward. Here's how to do it:
For a single monitor setup, simply connect your monitor to either the HDMI or DisplayPort (DP) port on the docking station. You'll get a maximum resolution of 4K at 60Hz.
To use dual monitors, connect each monitor to either the HDMI or DisplayPort (DP) port. Each monitor can display up to 4K at 60Hz.
For a triple monitor setup, connect one monitor to either the HDMI or DisplayPort (DP) port at a maximum resolution of 4K at 30Hz. If your laptop supports Display Stream Compression (DSC), you can achieve 4K at 30Hz on all three displays. Without DSC, the second and third monitors can run at 1080P at 60Hz.
The AC7047 functions as a USB-C to MST (Multi-Stream Transport) adapter if your laptop supports DisplayPort alternate mode (DP alt mode). This allows for multiple video outputs. You can switch display modes using the "Windows key + P" shortcut on Windows 10. Note that MacOS does not support MST Daisy chaining, so connected screens will show a clone of your main screen. By following these steps and ensuring your laptop's display capabilities align with the AC7047's features, you'll be able to extend your display across multiple monitors easily.
