Charging your Westfalia AMS 18 18V Li-Ion is straightforward. First, plug the battery charger into a working mains socket. Next, insert the Westfalia battery pack into the charger. Before charging, consult the battery charger section of your Westfalia AMS 18 manual for specific instructions. The charger has an LED indicator to signal the charging status. Typically, a fully discharged battery charges within an hour. However, if the battery has been stored in a discharged state, it may take up to 1.5 hours. To begin charging, slide the battery onto the charger. The red LED will illuminate, and the green LED will flash during charging. Once the battery is fully charged, the green LED will remain lit. If the red LED flashes, the battery may be defective.
Additional tips to ensure successful charging:
Ensure the battery and charger align correctly. Do not force the battery into the charger; if it doesn't slide in easily, check for any obstructions or damage. Also, ensure the contacts on both the battery and charger are clean and in good condition.
Check the battery charge level using the built-in indicator. Pressing the button on the battery pack will display the charge level. A high charge level is indicated by the right LED, while a low charge level (left LED) signals the need for charging soon.
Always ensure your Westfalia AMS 18 battery is adequately charged before use to avoid interruptions.
