Want to personalize your 4GXtream router's Wi-Fi network and boost security? Here's how to change your wireless network name (SSID) and password:
- Connect to the Router: Using a device (like a computer, tablet, or smartphone), connect to the 4GXtream's default Wi-Fi network. The default password is "4GXtream".
- Access the Router's Settings: Open a web browser and type in either http://4gxtream.lan or http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar. Then, enter the default login password, which is also "4GXtream".
- Find Wireless Settings: Once logged in, go to the "Network" menu, then click on "Wireless".
- Change the Network Name (SSID): Look for the "Edit" icon (usually a pencil) next to either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz network. Click it to change the network name to something unique.
- Set a New Password: Select the "Wireless Security" option and enter a new password. Make it strong—use a mix of capital and lowercase letters, along with numbers and symbols.
- Save Your Changes: Click the "Save & Apply" button to save the new settings. The router will restart.
- Reconnect Your Devices: After the router restarts, find your new network name in your device's Wi-Fi list and connect to it using the new password. This will improve security and help you easily identify your network.
