Adjusting the wind speed settings on your Hunter Wind-Clik wind sensor ensures it functions correctly. Here's how: First, locate the two dial knobs on your Wind-Clik. The larger dial sets the switching (or actuation) speed in miles per hour (mph), which is the wind speed that triggers the unit to activate. The smaller dial sets the reset speed, the wind speed at which the sensor resets. To set the switching speed, use the larger dial. If the unit is normally closed, this dial indicates the wind speed that activates the switch. Don't turn the dial beyond the lowest or highest speed settings. Next, set the reset speed using the smaller dial. The reset speed should be lower than the switching speed to avoid rapid cycling. If the reset speed is the same or higher, the system may turn on and off repeatedly. The difference between these settings affects the cycle duration; a larger difference results in a longer cycle. Make initial adjustments and observe the vanes to ensure the Wind-Clik switches as intended. You can manually test the unit by rotating the vanes; the switch activates around 90° from the rest position and deactivates around 45° from the rest position. Always ensure the reset speed is appropriately lower than the switching speed. For more details or assistance, consult your Wind-Clik manual.
