Before installing your Humminbird transducer, it's wise to confirm it's working. Here’s how:

1. Ensure your Humminbird control head is connected to a power source, following the instructions in its installation guide.
2. Plug the transducer cable securely into the control head.
3. Submerge the transducer in water.
4. Turn on the control head by pressing the POWER button.
5. If the transducer is recognized, the control head will enter Normal mode.
6. Choose a 2D Sonar view to display the sonar readings.
7. If you see the bottom of the body of water on the screen, along with a digital depth reading, the transducer is functioning correctly.
8. To power off, press and hold the POWER button.
9. Remove the transducer from the water.
10. Disconnect the transducer cable from the control head. These steps will help you confirm your Humminbird transducer is ready for installation.
