Before installing your Humminbird transducer, it's wise to ensure it's functioning correctly. Here's how to test it: First, make sure your control head is powered on following the control head's installation guide. Next, connect the transducer cable to the control head. Then, submerge the transducer in water. Power on the control head by pressing the POWER button. If the transducer is properly detected, the control head will enter Normal mode. Now, choose a 2D Sonar View to display the sonar data on the screen. If you see the bottom of the water body and a digital depth reading, your Humminbird transducer is working as it should. Finally, power off the control head by holding down the POWER button, remove the transducer from the water, and disconnect the transducer cable from the control head. These steps will confirm your Humminbird transducer is ready for installation.
