To effectively and safely use the ROCKLER 36833 Thin Rip Tablesaw Jig for cutting thin strips, follow these steps: First, ensure the jig is securely locked in the miter gauge slot to prevent kickback. Always use the jig in conjunction with your table saw fence for precise cuts. Before cutting, install a zero-clearance insert to minimize kickback risk. Position the jig on the infeed side of the blade, at least 2 inches away. Use a push block or stick to keep your hands away from the blade. Make sure all blade guards and splitters are properly in place. To set up for a rip cut, position the jig in the miter slot to the left of the blade, and adjust the bearing guide to barely touch the saw teeth. Next, use the jig's scale to set your desired rip cut width. Once the width is set, slide the jig in front of the throat plate and tighten it. Then, position your stock against the fence and adjust until it lightly touches the bearing guide; lock the rip fence. Finally, make your rip cut using the jig. Repeat these steps to create additional thin strips. Always consult the most recent ROCKLER 36833 instruction manual for the latest safety information and guidelines.
