Maintaining your Keurig K-Mini Plus is simple and keeps it brewing great coffee. Here's how to clean it:
- Brewer Exterior: Wipe the outside with a damp, soapy, non-abrasive cloth. Be sure not to submerge the brewer in water.
- Water Reservoir: Remove and clean the water reservoir regularly with a damp, soapy, non-abrasive cloth. Rinse thoroughly and let it air dry completely.
- Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray frequently, as it can hold up to 8 ounces of overflow. Slide it out to remove, then rinse and wipe with a damp, soapy, non-abrasive cloth.
- K-Cup Pod Holder: Lift the handle and remove the pod holder. Grasp the top and push up from the bottom to release it. After cleaning, align it using the front ribs and snap it back in. Avoid putting fingers inside the pod holder.
- Funnel: Wash the funnel regularly. To remove, pull it off the K-Cup pod holder. To replace, align the snaps with the indent and snap it back on.
- Exit Needle: With the pod holder assembly removed, detach the funnel. Use a straightened paper clip to clear any coffee grounds from the exit needle, located inside the bottom of the pod holder.
- Entrance Needle: Lift the brewer handle to access the entrance needle under the lid. Use a straightened paper clip to carefully clear any coffee grounds from both holes of the entrance needle. After cleaning, lower the handle and run two brew cycles with just water (no K-Cup pod) to rinse the system.
Regularly cleaning these parts will help your Keurig K-Mini Plus coffee maker function at its best and last longer. The user manual that came with your Keurig K-Mini Plus has more detailed instructions.
