To descale your Keurig K-Elite coffee maker and restore optimal brewing performance, follow these steps: Begin by gathering a large ceramic mug, fresh water, Keurig Descaling Solution, and access to a sink. Ensure you have a ceramic mug, and not a paper cup. First, turn off your Keurig K-Elite by pressing the power button. Next, empty the water reservoir and remove the Keurig Water Filter if one is present, setting it aside. Pour the entire bottle of Keurig Descaling Solution into the empty water reservoir. Then, fill the empty solution bottle with fresh water and pour it into the reservoir. Turn the brewer back on using the power button. Place the large mug on the drip tray and initiate a rinsing brew cycle. Select the hot water button and choose the largest brew size. Repeat this rinsing brew process until the "add water" light illuminates. Avoid using a K-Cup pod during this process. Allow the Keurig K-Elite to sit for at least 30 minutes while still powered on. After the 30-minute period, discard any remaining solution from the water reservoir and rinse the reservoir thoroughly. Fill the water reservoir with fresh water to the MAX fill line. Place your large mug back on the drip tray and perform a rinsing brew using the largest brew size. Dispose of the contents of the mug into the sink. Repeat the brew process, completing at least 12 rinsing brews with the largest brew size. You might need to refill the water reservoir during this cycle. Note that foaming may occur during descaling, which is normal. If your Keurig K-Elite is heavily scaled and doesn't fill correctly, turn it off, unplug it, discard the solution, rinse the reservoir, and refill with fresh water. Plug it back in, power it on, and repeat the rinsing process. Regular descaling, every 3 to 6 months, is crucial for maintaining your Keurig K-Elite's performance and extending its lifespan.
