If your Keurig K-Elite coffee maker isn't brewing as efficiently or the coffee's taste has diminished, descaling might be necessary. Here's how to descale your Keurig K-Elite: First, empty the water reservoir and remove any Keurig Water Filter. Then, pour the entire bottle of Keurig Descaling Solution into the empty water reservoir and fill the empty bottle with water, pouring it into the reservoir as well. Next, turn the brewer on. Place a large mug on the drip tray, and initiate a rinsing brew using the hot water function and the largest brew size setting. Repeat this rinsing brew process until the 'add water' light illuminates, without inserting a K-Cup pod. Allow the brewer to stand, still powered on, for at least 30 minutes. After the 30 minutes, discard any remaining solution from the water reservoir and rinse the reservoir thoroughly. Fill the water reservoir with fresh water to the maximum fill line. Again, place a large mug on the drip tray and run a rinsing brew using the largest brew size, without a K-Cup pod. Empty the mug's contents into the sink. Repeat this brew process, completing at least 12 rinsing brews with the largest brew size, refilling the water reservoir as needed. Once finished, your Keurig K-Elite should be ready to brew delicious coffee again. To maintain your brewer's performance, it's recommended to descale it every 3 to 6 months.
