To descale your Keurig K-Elite coffee maker and ensure optimal performance, follow these steps: First, gather supplies: a large ceramic mug, fresh water, and Keurig Descaling Solution. Make sure you have access to a sink. Turn off the brewer using the power button. Empty the water reservoir and remove the water filter, if applicable. Pour the entire bottle of Keurig Descaling Solution into the empty water reservoir, then fill the empty bottle with fresh water and pour it in as well. Turn the brewer back on with the power button. Place a large mug on the drip tray and initiate a rinsing brew using the hot water function and the largest brew size setting; do not use a K-Cup pod. Repeat this rinsing brew process until the "add water" light illuminates. Allow the brewer to stand, still on, for a minimum of 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, discard any remaining solution from the water reservoir and thoroughly rinse it. Fill the water reservoir with fresh water to the MAX fill line. Again, place a large mug on the drip tray and run a rinsing brew cycle with the largest brew size setting, discarding the contents into the sink. Repeat the brewing process for a minimum of 12 rinsing brews, refilling the water reservoir as needed. Note: Foaming during descaling is normal. If the brewer doesn't fill properly after adding descaler (due to heavy scaling), turn it off, unplug it, discard the solution, rinse the reservoir, refill with water, plug it back in, turn it on, and repeat the rinsing process. Regular descaling, every 3-6 months, is crucial for maintaining your Keurig K-Elite's performance and prolonging its lifespan.
