Next, wash the carafe and brew-through lid with soap and warm water, using a bottle brush for the carafe interior, and then wipe the main unit, showerhead, and water reservoir shelf with a damp cloth after the coffee maker has cooled down (do not immerse the unit in water). To descale, fill the water reservoir to the Max Fill line (50 oz.) with a coffee maker descaling solution, and place the empty carafe in position. Press the CLEAN button. The clock will display the remaining clean cycle time (about 60 minutes). The machine will pause periodically to maximize the cleaning process. When the cycle ends, the coffee maker beeps, the clock displays "End," and the CLEAN light turns off. Empty and thoroughly clean the carafe and water reservoir with warm, soapy water to remove any cleaning solution.
