Maintaining your Ninja CM401 Specialty Coffee Maker is easy with regular cleaning and descaling, ensuring optimal performance and delicious coffee. Here's how: First, empty the water reservoir and remove the filter holder and discard the paper filter if you used one. If using the permanent filter, wash it with warm, soapy water or in the top rack of your dishwasher. Always clean the frother whisk after each use, either by hand or in the dishwasher (top rack). Next, wash the carafe and brew-through lid with soap and warm water, using a bottle brush for the carafe interior, and then wipe the main unit, showerhead, and water reservoir shelf with a damp cloth after the coffee maker has cooled down (do not immerse the unit in water). To descale, fill the water reservoir to the Max Fill line (50 oz.) with a coffee maker descaling solution, and place the empty carafe in position. Press the CLEAN button. The clock will display the remaining clean cycle time (about 60 minutes). The machine will pause periodically to maximize the cleaning process. When the cycle ends, the coffee maker beeps, the clock displays "End," and the CLEAN light turns off. Empty and thoroughly clean the carafe and water reservoir with warm, soapy water to remove any cleaning solution. Then, fill the reservoir with fresh water to the Max Fill line and run a Full Carafe, Classic brew cycle with water only. Discard the water and clean the carafe. If the CLEAN light comes on again, repeat the descaling process. For further details, consult your Ninja CM401 user manual.
