A property pin is usually a slender metal rod, about two to three feet in length, placed at the corners of a property to mark boundaries. Many pins have a colored plastic cap displaying the original surveyor’s name. Older pins may be solid metal rods, and some locations feature a metal T-bar post in addition to the pin for added visibility.
