Will the Tire Pressure Monitoring System Alert Before a Tire Blowout?

Tire pressure monitoring is solely for supervising tire pressure and will only issue an alert when the pressure is too low or too high. Tire Pressure Monitoring Warning Light: The tire pressure monitoring indicator is a yellow symbol—an irregular circle without a seal on top, with four small spikes at the bottom and an exclamation mark inside. When the tire pressure monitoring indicator lights up, it indicates abnormal tire pressure. Abnormal tire pressure generally occurs due to one of the following three reasons: Abnormal Tire Pressure: Typically, an alert is triggered when the pressure is below 1.8 bar or above 3.0 bar. In such cases, tire inspection and pressure adjustment are necessary. Tire Pressure Monitoring Not Reset: After inflating the tires, if the tire pressure monitoring system is not reset promptly, it may still record the previous data, causing the tire pressure monitoring light to illuminate. In this situation, simply reset the tire pressure monitoring system. Damaged Tire Pressure Sensor: The tire pressure sensor, installed inside the tire and connected to the tire inflation valve, monitors tire pressure. If the sensor is damaged during driving (e.g., due to impact), the tire pressure warning light may also turn on. For sensor damage issues, the only solution is to replace it with a new component. What to Do If Tire Pressure Is Low: If no visible damage is detected, inflate the tire to normal pressure and reset the tire pressure system. If inspection reveals a puncture, drive to a tire repair shop promptly for patching, then reinflate the tire. If the low-pressure warning reappears some time after inflation without any puncture, it may be due to air leakage caused by a deformed wheel rim. In this case, inspect the rim and consider replacing it.
