ETC can run out of power. There are two types of ETC devices: one with solar power and one without, but both rely on the battery inside the ETC device to maintain normal operation. It is recommended to charge the device every 3 months to prevent natural discharge of the internal battery. ETC stands for Electronic-Toll-Collection, which refers to the electronic toll collection system. To apply for ETC, the following documents are required: the original and photocopy of the vehicle owner's valid ID card and driving license. If the application is not made by the owner, the valid ID card of the agent must also be provided. The photocopy of the driving license should include the page with the most recent annual inspection stamp. Additionally, a bank card for deducting highway tolls is needed. The applicant must be between 18 and 60 years old and the vehicle must be registered under an individual's name. For company vehicles, the required documents include: A letter of introduction from the vehicle owner (with official seal); a photocopy of the organization code certificate or business license (with official seal); the original ID card of the agent; the original driving license of the vehicle; and the vehicle that needs to be equipped with ETC. How ETC works: The onboard electronic tag installed on the vehicle's windshield communicates with the microwave antenna in the ETC lane at the toll station. Using computer networking technology, the system settles payments with the bank in the background, allowing vehicles to pass through highway or bridge toll stations without stopping to pay tolls. Benefits of installing ETC: Time-saving: Eliminates the hassle of waiting in line; Green and eco-friendly: Reduces noise and exhaust emissions by allowing vehicles to pass through toll stations without stopping; Cost-saving: Reduces wear and fuel consumption by minimizing vehicle starts and stops; Improved efficiency: ETC lanes can theoretically increase traffic efficiency by 2-3 times, making traditional ETC faster, more advanced, and more high-tech. Compared to license plate payment, ETC technology is more mature and advantageous.

Which side should you overtake from?

Overtaking should be done from the left side. In regions where traffic keeps to the right, the overtaking lane is the leftmost lane. In regions where traffic keeps to the left, the overtaking lane is the rightmost lane. According to regulations: 1. Overtaking from the right while driving a motor vehicle will result in a 3-point penalty and a fine of up to 200 RMB. The right side is the blind spot for left-hand drive vehicles, with severely limited visibility. The vehicle being overtaken may not notice the violating vehicle on the right, increasing the risk of collision when changing lanes to the right. 2. Overtaking refers to the process where the following vehicle merges into the rear side of the leading vehicle, passes it, and then merges back into the original lane. The lane typically used for overtaking is the inner lane, which is closer to the center of the road and farther from the shoulder.

Why is wheel alignment necessary?

Wheel alignment helps maintain stable straight-line driving and easy steering, while reducing wear on tires and steering components during vehicle operation. Scenarios requiring wheel alignment include: 1. When the vehicle pulls to one side during driving or the steering wheel doesn't return to center automatically. 2. After removal of axle or suspension components. 3. When the chassis or suspension is damaged in an accident. 4. Abnormal uneven tire wear, particularly severe one-sided wear on front or rear tires. 5. When experiencing floating or unstable body movement during normal driving.

Is it true that cars nowadays don't have a break-in period?

Whether a car has a break-in period depends on whether it is mentioned in the user manual. Here is a detailed introduction to the car break-in period: 1. Nowadays, new cars launched by automotive brands generally do not have the concept of a break-in period. However, the absence of a break-in period does not mean you can drive a new car recklessly. When taking a new car on the road, the driver needs to adapt to the function buttons and operating habits of the new car. This adaptation process effectively replaces the so-called break-in period. 2. The car break-in period refers to the initial driving phase of a new car or one that has undergone major repairs. It ensures that the various components of the car can fully contact and friction during actual operation, thereby adjusting and enhancing their ability to adapt to the environment. Typically, the break-in period covers the first 1,000-1,500 kilometers of driving. 3. Car break-in is divided into cold break-in and running-in. Cold break-in involves the engine being run on a machine where an electric motor drives the crankshaft and pistons to rotate. The pistons operate in the cylinders in a state similar to actual running conditions, but without the high temperatures from fuel combustion. This process mainly aims to prevent fine metal residues left during manufacturing from reducing the engine's lifespan. Running-in refers to the break-in process during normal driving, primarily involving the driver's adaptation to the use of the car's brake pads.

Is it necessary to apply window film to cars in summer?

If you are not particularly afraid of sun exposure or have privacy needs, you can skip the film application, as the car will appear exceptionally bright and fresh. Pay attention to the following points when applying film: 1. Infrared radiation from sunlight is the primary source of heat in nature. The main function of high-quality car film is to reflect infrared rays, making the enclosed interior temperature significantly lower than the outside, thereby reducing air conditioning load and saving fuel. 2. Excessive ultraviolet (UV) exposure can burn the skin and cause diseases. Additionally, UV radiation accelerates the aging of various interior components such as the dashboard. Therefore, high-quality car films typically have an extremely high UV blocking rate. 3. For window films, especially those on the front side windows, choose films with a light transmittance of 85% or higher. This helps reduce the intense glare from the headlights of following vehicles reflected in the rearview mirror during night driving, making it much more comfortable for the eyes. 4. In the event that the glass of a car with high-quality film is shattered, the film will hold the broken pieces together, preventing them from flying and causing injury.
