Manual transmission cars will not stall when braking with half-clutch. Half-clutch means letting the clutch disc slip, which does not cause the engine to stall. The explanation and usage of half-clutch are as follows: Half-clutch refers to pressing the accelerator to a certain depth and holding it, then releasing the clutch and maintaining a half-released state to start moving. After starting, continue to gradually increase the throttle and keep the clutch half-released, maintaining the engine's effect on the transmission gears. This method, known as driving with half-clutch, provides flexible power and also helps test-takers complete the Category 2 exam items within a relatively ample time. Starting on a slope is the most challenging test of clutch control. Compared to starting on flat ground, it is more difficult because the resistance increases, requiring the clutch to be lifted slightly higher (feeling that the car shakes a bit more than on flat ground) to ensure sufficient power. Otherwise, the car will roll backward when the brake is released.
