Will the charger catch fire if it gets rained on?

No. The electric scooter's charger can still be used if it gets wet: Manufacturers of electric vehicles take some waterproofing measures during production, so as long as it hasn’t been soaked in water for a long time, there’s little impact. However, you must wait until it is completely dry before using it again, otherwise, there could be danger. If an unused charger gets wet: Absolutely do not connect it to power. First, dry the charger thoroughly with a dryer and wait until the next day to use it, otherwise, it may short-circuit and burn out. If the charger gets wet while charging: It may have already short-circuited and been damaged. In this case, you should open the charger to check for any signs of burning (it’s recommended to have it inspected at a professional repair shop). After drying it, test whether it still works. If it doesn’t, you’ll have to replace it.
I've dealt with similar safety concerns myself. Chargers getting wet in the rain do pose a fire risk, though the probability is relatively low depending on the device type. Most modern chargers meet IP67 waterproof standards, so brief exposure to rain is generally fine. However, water seeping into internal circuits can cause short circuits and localized overheating leading to fires, especially with low-quality or older charger models. My recommendation is to immediately power off after getting wet, wipe it dry, and let it air out in a ventilated area for a few days before reuse. Prevention is key - avoid outdoor charging during rain or use waterproof covers for charging plugs. If smoke appears, quickly unplug the power source and call the fire department. Water exposure can also cause corrosion and spots on electronic devices, creating long-term hazards.
