Will points be deducted for making a left turn and U-turn?

Making a left turn and U-turn may result in a 3-point deduction under certain circumstances. Presence of signs: At traffic light intersections without a no-U-turn sign but with a sign permitting left turns on red, a U-turn can be made in the leftmost lane. Conditions for making a U-turn at a traffic light include: no signs or markings on the ground or overhead prohibiting left turns or U-turns, and a section of dashed centerline on the left (approximately 10 meters, depending on the size of the intersection) or no line at all. Presence of directional signs: If there is a median barrier, it should be removed from the vehicle stop line to the junction of the dashed and solid lines. There should be a U-turn permission sign at the junction of the dashed and solid lines in the center of the road.
I've been driving for ten years, and this issue depends on the specific situation. Making a U-turn at an intersection with no U-turn or no left-turn signs will definitely be caught by surveillance cameras, usually resulting in a 1-point deduction and a 200-yuan fine. If the intersection allows left turns and has no no-U-turn signs, then making a U-turn when the left-turn light is green is perfectly fine. However, two crucial points to remember: first, never make a U-turn over the crosswalk—you must drive past the stop line before turning; second, don’t touch the double solid yellow lines—crossing them also counts as a violation. Last time in the city, I saw someone get caught because they didn’t check the signs, leaving their car awkwardly stuck in the middle of the road. So now, I always slow down and glance at the signs before making a U-turn.
