Will insurance cover damages if the car doesn't have flood coverage?

If you haven't purchased comprehensive car insurance, the insurance company will not provide compensation. If you have comprehensive car insurance, the insurer will cover damages except for the engine. Flood insurance is an add-on to comprehensive car insurance and cannot be purchased separately. If the car owner wants full coverage, they need to purchase both comprehensive car insurance and its add-on flood insurance. If neither is purchased, no claims will be compensated. There are three important points to note when purchasing insurance: 1. Avoid duplicate coverage: When buying car insurance, make sure not to purchase duplicate coverage. Even if the owner duplicates coverage for one type of insurance, they won't receive excess compensation for claims. 2. Avoid over-insurance or under-insurance: Neither over-insurance nor under-insurance provides effective protection. According to Article 39 of the Insurance Law: The insured amount must not exceed the insured value. If it does, the excess portion is invalid. If the insured amount is lower than the insured value, unless otherwise agreed in the contract, the insurer will bear compensation liability in proportion to the insured amount and the insured value. 3. Carefully review insurance documents: Check if the third copy is printed on white carbonless paper with light brown anti-counterfeiting patterns, whether the top left corner is printed with the words "Supervised by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission," and whether the top right corner is printed with the words "Limited for sale in ×× Province (City, Autonomous Region)."
